The RuneScape Official Forums were also affected, with the Rants forum reaching over 500 online users (which back then was a lot of people). Smaller F2P gatherings occurred in Varrock square, in world 81. The riot even began to spread to the Ice Plateau as many players cast Tele-group spells to take other players there. Members united in world 27, activating the Retribution prayer and shouting "save ss" and pleading for Jagex to reverse the resolution. Many users of the program were outraged that it was banned. One of the most notable such programs was SwiftSwitch (later renamed to SwiftKit). Most third party clients inserted themselves into the RuneScape interface to allow the use of calculators, IRC chat programs, and other conveniences. This riot was started on 2 January 2007 shortly after an update to Rule 7 in which all third party clients were banned. The following is a summary of the most notable riots in RuneScape, proceeding from earliest to the most recent. The effects of this riot are the most felt today, with the community still at odds as to the changes implemented. The Pay to PK Riot, which lasted from 10 December to 17 December, 2007, was heavily controversial, and much debate raged on as to whether the effects of previous changes to the wilderness were for the better or for the worse. They ostensibly have a goal of affecting in-game changes, but, in actuality, rioting has been largely ineffective in convincing Jagex to reverse an update the only documented exceptions to this rule was the Rule Seven Protest and the Protect Item Riot (see below for more details). Riots tend to be frowned upon by the majority of Runescape's players because they appear to be little more than spam-fests. Spamming or being offensive at a riot would be, though. "Rioting" is non-constructive & gets ignored, but not against the rules. Trains are also sometimes made by players following either a high-level player or a moderator, the latter often receiving streams of insults and abuse. For either side, the Protect Item prayers, both the Standard Prayer and the Ancient Curse version, are commonly used. Smite and Redemption are also sometimes used by Jagex supporters. Afros are also commonly used due to Falador centre's close proximity to Party Pete.ĭuring riots, protesters often try to cover as much of the screen as possible with activities such as spamming the and '&' key, planting mithril seeds, flowers, lighting fires, deploying Dwarf multicannons or using prayers such as Retribution, Wrath, Rapid Heal, Rapid Restore, or Rapid Renewal. It is not uncommon to see players wearing full robes and commonly used riot weapons are usually mauls such as the Gadderhammer or the Meat Tenderiser, symbolising a banhammer or a 'Hammer of Justice' so to speak. There have also been red skirts and (more commonly on the forums) hats, showing that they are against the riot and protest against the update peacefully. In riots, players often wear either pink skirts to show that they support the rioters, Wizard robe skirts to show they support Jagex, and either black or green skirts to show that they are neutral. 3.14 Wilderness and Free Trade Vote riot.

I have created a simple grid you can download and use. Now, let’s make a grid that will be perfect 1 ft by 1 ft squares to help us view our garden at the correct scale and plan our plant spacing. Just in case, let’s not delete the image we used, but instead, make it transparent, using the instructions above in Step 3, Item 1. With your garden shapes in place, you can remove the image of your garden. I used the circle tool to denote where I have my plant pots. Shapes, like Rectangles and Circles are found under the circle/square icon. The Line and Polyline tools are found under “Line” in the menu when you begin in Google Drawings. It is a little trickier to use, but remember, you can undo anything easily, so don’t get frustrated. But if your garden is like mine, it is a bunch of odd shapes, and the free-form line tool called Polyline is going to be your tool of choice. For circles/pots, the circle tool will be perfect. If your garden is very rectangular, use the rectangle shape tool. We can do this in a few ways in Google Drawings, and which works for you will depend on the shape of your garden spaces. My garden, fully filling the page and the scale safely at the top left. Once you have this small scale cropped, drag it out of the way. You may have to drag the image up a bit to get it into the viewable area. Using the crop tool, crop the top image down to only show the 10 ft scale. Copy and paste another of your maps on top of the first. This top copy will be for our scale, and the bottom for the garden map.Be sure to only trim the top and left! When you crop, you select the portion of the picture you wish to keep. The CROP icon is highlighted in the toolbar. Zooming Out (View->Zoom>50%) can also be very helpful when getting the map to the size you want, as well as cropping the top and left of the image (remember, you need that scale on the bottom right to remain!). I also recommend trimming the map down to the page after you get your scale measure Using the transparency slider, you can find the edges of the page. If you have trouble telling where the page edges are, you can adjust the transparency: right-click the image, select “Format Options”, and choose “Adjustments” to get the Transparency slider. Keep doing this until your garden area just about fills the page. Holding SHIFT makes sure you don’t stretch or squash your image. To resize your map, click on it, then, while holding down the SHIFT key, drag a corner. To make this easier, I recommend resizing the image in to fill the page, then copy-pasting another copy on top. While in Google Drawings, we need to make sure we can do two things: Trace our garden spaces AND get an accurate map scale. You should now see your image in Google Drawings. My map here is a little different, as I already removed the browser header by using the crop tool. Name your Google Drawing File and paste in your map screenshot. Now, in Google Drawings, hold down the Ctrl key and press the V key (PC) or Command + V (Mac). On a Mac, it’s Command+Control+Shift+3 to save your screen to the clipboard. On a Windows Computer, hold down the Alt key and press Print Screen. While viewing your map on Google Maps, copy your screen:.There are instructions on creating a Google Account here. If you are logged into Google on your browser, this link will open a new Google Drawings document for you. You will need a Google login to use it (If you use photo-editing software, like Photoshop, feel free to use it instead-I chose to demonstrate using Google Drawings because it is free and widely available). Step 2: Tweak Your Map in Google Drawings When you’ve successfully found a photo that will show you your garden as best it can, move on to Step 2. Strangely, adjusting this view on your computer will then update your browser view, so that you can take the aerial photo we need with the scale in the right bottom corner. You will need to install Google Earth Pro on your computer to get the Timeline feature to change your view. If not, are there huge tree shadows or other obstructions? Was the satellite photo taken at a time of year where the whole area is just green, so it’s hard to tell where the edges of your garden plots are? Google takes many photos every year, so to get a better image for our mapping needs, we will need to do some extra steps. We encourage you to either upgrade your software to a more current version, or use a current version of an alternate web browser. Some CalRecycle web pages will block access by non-supported web browsers because they inaccurately render the user interface or block certain functionality sufficiently to make the web page unusable.
According to the California tint law, the installation company should also give the owner of the vehicle a certificate or sticker with their address and name. This certificate should always be in the vehicle if the authorities decide to check if your window tint is lawful. Notably, the manufacturer should first certify the film for California before they start selling it there. It should have the name and the address of the manufacturer. You might get such a certificate from the tint installing company. If you have tinted windows on your vehicles, you also need to have a signed certificate from the tint manufacturer where they state the percentage of VLT of the film. However, today you cannot have a color-altering film on any of the windows. Moreover, in the past, colors silver, blue, red, amber, and some other colors were allowed. However, now, a window tint on a vehicle must not produce more light reflection than the standard window. Some automobile owners tint their car windows with a tint that reflects incoming light to reduce glare and heat. Still, mind that those windows shouldn’t be more reflective than the regular windows. That is why there is no limit on the VLT, which means you can have the tint of any darkness both for the back side and rear windows. These windows do not affect the driver’s field of vision. As for the front passenger windows, they can have a tint, but the rating should be at least 88%. At the same time, it has enough field of vision to drive a car safely. This amount of tint will block the sun and prevent the driver from being dazzled by the light. Its width is also limited and should cover no more than 4 inches at the top of the window. You can only apply a non-reflective strip. Still, you can tint the top section of the windshield, which is sometimes known as the “eyebrow.” According to the law, a driver needs a clear view of the road, so tinting is unlawful. Most surfaces of the front windshield cannot have a tint. Still, if you have a tinted rear window, you should also have dual side mirrors. According to the California car window tint law, the tint on the rear and back side can have any VLT percentage. So, the window should let in lots of light. Today in California, the front windshield and front side windows should have at least 70% VLT. The lower the number, the darker the tint. VLT refers to an amount of light that can pass both through the tint film and the glass.įor example, a window rated at 50% allows 50% of light to pass, 25% allows 25% light, and so on. It is the amount of light that can pass through the window of your automobile. The law measures the percentage of light in the Visible Light Transmission (VLT). In California, there are strict rules that govern the tint darkness and reflection. For windshields, you can have only a transparent strip of 4 or 5 inches. The front side windows and a windshield need to have a certain tint to be legal. These changes have already gone into effect, so you should know what is legal. In 2023, window tint law in California changed. Be careful because the state has restrictions on the degree to which you can tint your window. Still, in 2023 in California, tinting windows is not always legal. Also, tinting gives a vehicle a more stylish look. This modification also protects the driver and passengers while in the car. That is good because harmful UV rays might cause skin diseases such as cancer, cause premature aging, and be bad for health. When you tint the windows, it protects you from the sun. One of the most popular and inexpensive modifications is to tint the windows. Many people in California and over the world enjoy modifying their cars in many ways. Is your car window tint legal in California now? Find out about the lawful tint reflection, colors, darkness, and measurements in this article. Plant information taken from the Plants For A Future. The plant has a strongly acrid juice that can cause blistering to the skin. Known hazards of Ranunculus acris: All parts of the plant are poisonous, the toxins can be destroyed by heat or by drying. Also found on damp rock ledges, in gullies and occasionally on mountain top detritus. Very easy, though probably totally unnecessary, larger divisions can be planted out direct into their permanent positions.Ĭultivation of Meadow Buttercup: Damp meadows and pastures, usually on calcareous or circum-neutral soils. You are very unlikely to need to encourage this plant. Because creeping buttercup can tolerate heavy, wet soils, it can be a particularly bad problem on well-watered lawns, wet meadows and poorly drained pastures. Creeping buttercup also depletes potassium in the soil and so can have a detrimental effect on surrounding plants. Propagation of the herb: Seed - sow spring in situ. One plant can spread over a 40 square foot area in a year. Some caution is advised, see the notes above on toxicity. Also found on damp rock ledges, in gullies and occasionally on mountain top detritus.Įdible parts of Meadow Buttercup: Leaves - cooked and used as greens. Habitat of the herb: Damp meadows and pastures, usually on calcareous or circum-neutral soils. Use with caution, the whole plant is extremely acrid and can cause intense pain and burning of the mouth, mucous membranes etc. They are used in the treatment of disorders brought about by rotting sores or wounds. Their use is said to promote heat, dissolve tumours and draw out serous fluids. The flowers are used in Tibetan medicine, where they are considered to have an acrid taste and a heating potency. The sap has also been used as a sedative. The plant sap has been used to remove warts. The poulticed root is also rubefacient and was applied to boils and abscess. An infusion of the roots has been used in the treatment of diarrhoea. The flowers and the leaves have been crushed and sniffed as a treatment for headaches. I don't usually make requests for things, But how hard would it be to add the ability of this mod to also allow changing the stock sunflare texture? in the assets files the texture in question is called "Sun_Flare.tex" and normally looks something like this: If there's no license included in your post, it will be assumed to be CC-BY (can be reused, as long as credited) Make sure that you upload it as a png or some other non-lossy format Add a GUI for changing NavBall texture in-game.1.1 - Fixed issue preventing NavBall texture from being changed if the vessel doesn't have an iva view.Folder can now be renamed and/or moved anywhere, as long as it's under KSP's GameData dir 1.1.a - Fixed working directory issue when KSP is launched by an external program.1.2 - Fixed an issue that caused only a single instance of the flight and iva NavBall to be changed.1.3 - Fixed a rare bug somebody had once removed some debug code that caused unnecessary log spam each time the plugin loaded.1.6 - Updated for 1.3 changed logging system. The texture will replace both the fl ight and IVA view unless the appropriate option is disabled You can edit the color (RGBA floats) and/or supply your own emissive texture. The stock IVA navball uses an emissive texture to make it a little more readable. For example, if you put your custom skin inside the skins folder and called it "mySkin.png", you would set TextureUrl = mySkin or TextureUrl = NavBallTextureChanger/Skins/mySkin The texture urls can be fully qualified or relative to the skins directory. Edit the config file inside NavBallTextureChanger/PluginData/NavBallTextureChanger/settings.cfg to your liking. Place the NavBallTextureReplacer folder into your GameData folder It works all areas where you could see a NavBall (flight, map, IVA) and easily allows you to substitute your own replacement. You can now change it to any texture you please through this simple plugin, originally made by continued by yours truly. It greatly simplifies the coding required in a mod to support one or both toolbars, it gives the player the flexibility to decide how to control the buttons, and, moving forward, makes maintaining a mod much easier. No longer do you have to kee p the same boring NavBall texture. And in this case, I felt that it was well worth my time to convert all the mods that I support to this new method. Keep in mind that modders do this as a hobby, and, to "scratch an itch" in other words, a modder will make a mod because the core game is missing something that HE/SHE wants. And, since I'm the one doing the work, it's my decision as to whether it is worth the time or not. The effort it takes to convert a mod from using the stock toolbar to using the ToolbarController is usually about 15 minutes work, except in a few strange cases. What I am questioning though is it really worth his time to continue a mod and then have to develop an extra dependency that needs to be applied to other mods for the sake of managing some UI buttons? We all appreciate the time and effort that LGG has sacrificed from his personal life so that we can continue to use these mods. If you see ckan errors you did not correctly remove the blocks, try again from your backup being mindful of removing exactly what is specified below, including the commas. This means that if you have a slave working on the same schedule as a regular pawn, you're not doing it right. Slaves work 15% slower than free colonists. Do not attempt this with an Ideology that sees slavery as anything less than Acceptable.Ģ. Playing the dedicated slaver requires a lot of forethought and the right setup from the get-go. Regularly enslaving people is a disaster for a colony with the Slavery-unfriendly ideology. If you have a lot of electrical devices, that are also broken now and then, you are consuming many valuable components, which are expensive to produce and can be scarce, especially towards the end of the game.1. Even a few solar panels would certainly be dispensable if I turn off unnecessary work stations. In the case of my colony, I have too many batteries. If you switch off unnecessary lamps or devices, much power can be saved. Especially sun lamps, which are mostly used to grow food, need an immense amount of electricity. You should also pay attention to how much electricity you actually need. It is always recommended to use several different power sources. The colony would then be left in the dark without electricity. This is not optimal, as while a solar eclipse, the batteries could completely run empty. I dismantled the generators and replaced them with solar panels. Stone floor does not catch fire in the case of an explosion. Under the batteries is no longer wood, but stone floor. In this screenshot, I have the batteries built in duet, so that two at maximum explode in case of a disaster. This is not the case with a room size of 4x2. If they have a lot of space, they get a mood buff. The size of the rooms is also reflected in the mood of the colonists. It is advisable to give a colonist (who may not have high skills) high priority for cleaning.Īfter all, some colonists, and even prisoners already have their own rooms. Especially after raids, the corridors are often blood-stained and it takes a long time to be cleaned up again. The cleanliness also affects the beauty of the rooms. Colonists may be bothered if this gets too much. If the power cables are not routed through a wall, but lie open on the floor, as here, this reduces the beauty of the rooms. What is particularly noticable here are the power cables, which were simply laid across the floor. The generators and batteries are now a ticking time bomb, soon I had to learn that they should better be placed seperated and not on a wooden floor. Yes, it is not the best idea to build the power generator and battery on wooden floor, but it gets even better: Of course, that also results in a debuff. The huge puddle in front of the research table, however, is still bad: Every time someone wants to leave the base, he gets wet. Alternatively, items can also be stored outside in shelves. Now, most items will start rotting if they are not stored covered under a roof. This savegame is from an older patch, back then it was still possible to store all items outdoors. If your colonists are in the dark for too long, they also get debuffs. So far, there is little to no light in the whole base. In the beginning, many things are anything but optimal: The colonists do not have their own sleeping rooms, so they are often disturbed by the others while sleeping and receive mood debuffs. In my first actual play through of RimWorld I built a mountain base, which means I nestled in an existing cave system. The start was very unstructured, many things I would do differently now. But even if you think you've got everything under control, there is that one pyromaniac who thinks it's fun to play with fire close to the power generators. That's why my first colony was not the very first, but the first that made it. Especially as a noob, one thing that the game keeps offering to you are creative ways to kill your colonists. In the beginning everything is a process in RimWorld. In this post, I'll show you one of my first colonies, what can go wrong and tips on how to do better. My own method: I'll carefully design the original vector-based artwork to fit the pixel grid, even doing really picky things like sizing text where the capital letter heights are equal to whole pixel values. The object doesn't fit the target dimensions. If the selected object isn't exact in its pixel size and even placement on the artboard you can end up with fuzzy edges and extra pixels. One approach is exporting a selected object as a PNG or JPEG image. It's either that or contain all the artwork in a clipping mask set to those pixel dimenions. Are you using any line stroke effects on objects in the design, particularly anything placed along any edges of the page? If the graphic being produced in Illustrator has to be an exact size of pixels tall by pixels wide it's best to make the artboard in those absolute pixel dimensions and not create objects that overshoot those limits. The Legacy Save for Web may be an old carthorse, but it knows its way home, even if the driver is drunk and sleeping it off in the hay in the back.ġ. If you have pure vector artwork, you can relax a bit and have the artwork/Artboard at any size (the Artboard must have the same proportions as the final image), then use the Legacity Save for Web and set either Width or Height in the Image Size and Apply (make sure the other value is also correct). In either case, use the relevant optimization (available with both ways) it is also convenient to have 72PPI in the Effect>Document Raster Effect Settings. Therefore, the safest way is to create the artwork at the final pixel x pixel size and use a corresponding Artboard, then either use the Legacity Save for Web (where you can look in the Image Size window for size confirmation) or Export at 72PPI. Otherwise the resulting image will become a bit wider/taller and the extension(s) will be empty and therefore be (partially) transparent/white. It is also important to have the artwork and also the Artboard placed fully within integer/whole pixel X and Y values in the Workspace. To retain the clean and crisp artwork, a PNG must be created at exactly the pixel x pixel size that it is to be used for, or at sizes that are powers of 2 times as large (2, 4, 8, and so on). It is easiest and safest to work at the desired size.Ī very common unsuitable way is to Export to PNG (remember to use PNG24 and use Transparency for artwork to be in front of different backgrounds) with a medium or high resolution, such as 300PPI. If you wish to have PNGs (PNG24 (also (little) known as PNG32, it holds 24 bit colour and 8 bit Alpha channel (transparency)), of course) look crisp and clean, it is important to have the images in the exact desired final pixel x pixel size, forget about resolution which may actually lead to wrong sizes and hence blurriness. This may sound unforgivably outdated and boring, sorry see the highlighted crucial part for this particular issue. So without further ado, here are some of our favorites to bring a smile to your face. But, like all diagrams (including flowcharts), the humble Venn can be subverted for comedic purposes. The word ‘diagram’ might conjure up images of flowcharts and other process-driven work creations. 10 funny Venn diagram examples (plus a bonus Venn diagram fail) Venn diagrams (aka primary diagrams, set diagrams, or logic diagrams) are diagrams that show the logical link between sets.Ĭreated by John Venn in the 1880s, they were originally used to teach set theory and show relationships between probability, logic, statistics, linguistics, and computer science.Įssentially, a Venn diagram is a diagram that uses simple circles, ellipses, or closed curved shapes to represent sets. Let’s get into it! What is a Venn diagram, and where did they come from?įirst, a quick history lesson. The good news is, Venn diagrams are really easy to create - so if you want to try making some yourself, we’ll tell you exactly how to do it. They’re commonly used in mathematics and other data-heavy subjects, but they’ve more recently been hijacked and turned into something of a tool for funny comparisons for all kinds of life situations. On August 28th, The Daily Dot posted a listicle of popular examples of the meme.Venn diagrams are a simple way to show links and differences between two or more sets of data - whether that be an idea, a role, a person, or… well, anything, really… as you’ll soon see. The post (shown below, right) received more than 1,700 retweets and 10,000 likes in six days. Twitter account Pixelated Boat posted an Epic Handshake about the Venn diagrams. Others, however, mocked the trend, comparing it to other recent memes, such as Business Handshake and Epic Handshake. It would make your mom really happy." The post (shown below, center) received more than 850 retweets and 6,900 likes in six days. The following day, Twitter user posted a parody of "put your hands up," replacing the center intersection with "Dinner is at 7pm tonight, please try to make it. Twitter user tweeted a variation that added such circles as "mom taking off your sweater." The post (shown below, left) received more than 3,700 and 10,000 likes in one week. The post inspired others to post variations of the "put your hands up" Venn diagram, adding more circles. Three years later, on August 20th, 2018, Twitter user tweeted a three-part diagram based around the types of people that ask others to "Put your hands up." The post (shown below) received more than 2,900 retweets and 7,000 likes in nine days. On January 13th, 2015, the website Mental Floss published a listicle of various mock venn diagrams. The following year, on April 10th, 2011, Tumblr user lateenough posted one about various social media cites and what personality disorders it reflects (shown below, right). Two years later, on December 17th, 2010, the website Chartporn posted a Christmas-themed parody (shown below, right). On June 4th, 2008, a blogger on Warwick.ac.uk posted one about the Jolly Green Giant, vegetable mascot (shown below, left). Over the next decade, parody Venn diagrams grew in popularity online. The examples shows three circles, labeled "Easter Bunny," "Santa Claus" and "Tooth Fairy," and the center intersection labeled " Religious doubt" (shown below). While parodies of Venn diagrams have likely existed since the form's coming to prominence, one of the earliest parodies published online was posted on the website Indexed on August 9th, 2006. In July 1880 English logician and philosopher John Venn introduced the Venn Diagram in a paper entitled "On the Diagrammatic and Mechanical Representation of Propositions and Reasonings" for the Philosophical Magazine and Journal of Science (shown below). |
